My Focus
Individualized Learning
I offer one-on-one, direct instruction, individualized to meet each learner’s needs. I use research-based, multisensory techniques and programs to help students master their struggles. These techniques are taught systematically, with regular progress monitoring, in order to make visible gains. I can help students who have language based learning disabilities, such as dyslexia, those struggling in school, or those who just need a slight boost.
Reading
I understand that every reader is unique. Many students with reading difficulties need individualized help with some or all of the following: phonological awareness, memory and rapid naming, decoding or word attack skills, fluency, reading comprehension, spelling and written language. I assess these skills and create a plan to sequentially tackle the areas in need of support. I can provide support to readers of all ages.
Writing
If writing is a student’s primary area of need, I assess handwriting, spelling and written expression. I use evidence-based, multisensory tools to support each student’s individual writing needs. Early reading and writing are like two sides of the same coin; often a learner will need support with both.
Math
I offer Elementary Math tutoring and homework support. Many struggles with math stem from lack of a solid foundation in Number Sense, Computation and Problem Solving. I provide individualized instruction in these areas. I can also teach parents and students how to navigate math homework and their school’s specific math curriculum. For math tutoring for students in 5th grade or above I highly recommend GoldenMathTutors.com!

About Cerri
I am passionate about all children learning to read and write and using reading as a life-long tool for knowledge and enjoyment. I received my B.A. in Early Childhood Education from MSCD and went on to teach first grade for six and-a-half years, until welcoming my daughter in November 2014.
In the classroom, I learned to work with a wide variety of students, including gifted students, students with ASD, those with learning disabilities and twice exceptional students. I learned how to effectively individualize instruction to meet the needs of various learners.
In May 2014, I completed my Master of Education in Literacy from Regis University and became a certified Reading Specialist. I have been trained in numerous programs, curriculums and assessments, including Wilson® Fundations and LETRS®.
Very soon I will extend my toolbelt with Lindamood-Bell Phonemic Sequencing Program® (LIPS). I am always continuing to learn and gain new tools to help my students. I am a member of both the International Literacy Association and the International Dyslexia Association.
I spend my free time enjoying the Colorado mountains with my husband, Sam and our daughter, Cecilia.
